ITINERARY:
DAY 1 USA / DUBLIN: Fly transatlantic overnight to Dublin Ireland. Dinner is served and in-flight entertainment is provided.

DAY 2 ARRIVE IN DUBLIN/KILKENNY: Welcome to Ireland! After collecting your bags, you will meet with your driver in the arrival’s hall at Dublin Airport. Shortly afterwards, depart and start your journey towards Kilkenny. Stop just outside the town of Kildare and visit the Irish National Stud and Gardens. The Stud is the home of equine royalty; immaculately bred stallions who can be seen and admired alongside protective mares, frolicking foals and athletic yearlings. In the world-famous Japanese Gardens, you can follow the path called the 'Life of Man' which traces the passage of a soul from birth to death and beyond, at the same time providing a meeting place for the cultures of East and West. Continue towards Kilkenny, undoubtedly Ireland’s loveliest inland city. In medieval times this was a prosperous trading center, and the narrow streets still follow ancient routes. Check in to your hotel and enjoy the remainder of your day at leisure. This evening enjoy dinner in your hotel. (D)

DAY 3 CASHEL / BLARNEY / KILLARNEY: After breakfast, start your journey towards Killarney. Stop to visit the unforgettable Rock of Cashel. The dramatic limestone rock crowned with secular and religious buildings dominate the flat countryside for miles around. Onward to County Cork where you stop to visit the Blarney Castle, with its magical stone that gives the gift of eloquence for a kiss. You have plenty of free time to explore and shop in Blarney Woolen Mills, too! Afterwards, continue to bustling Killarney. The town on the lakes is famous for its lively pubs and open, cheerful atmosphere, full of what the Irish call “craic!” – Gaelic for fun. This evening enjoy dinner in your hotel. (B/D)

DAY 4 BEARA PENINSULA: After breakfast, depart on a glorious drive to the Beara Peninsula. Drive over the Caha Mountains and Moll's Gap - picturesque views of the Lakes of Killarney, and through Kenmare and Glengarriff. Visit Bantry House, which was built in 1720 and has scenic views of Bantry Bay. Enjoy the spectacular scenery of this Peninsula. Later, return to Killarney for dinner and overnight. (B/D)

DAY 5 DINGLE PENINSULA/GALWAY: Today, begin by heading out to the beautiful Dingle Peninsula. This peninsula is a Gaeltacht, a unique area where the Irish language is preserved. We'll drive to the Gallarus Oratory - a tiny stone church - built between the 6th and 9th century, which preserved Christianity in Ireland; Slea Head; beehive huts; views of the Blasket Islands; harbors; beaches; all spectacular! There is time to explore the town of Dingle, a colorful fishing port. Afterwards, continue to Galway for overnight. (B)

DAY 6 EXCURSION TO ACHILL ISLAND: After breakfast, depart and make your way towards Achill Island. Achill Island is the largest of the Irish Isles and lies off the west coast of County Mayo. Marked by rugged mountains and peat bogs, the island is known for its tall sea cliffs and clean beaches. Afterwards, stop in Westport for some free time before making your way back to Galway for overnight. This evening enjoy dinner in Au Pucan Pub in Galway. (B/D)

DAY 7 GALWAY / ATHLONE / DUBLIN: After breakfast, depart Galway and make your way towards Athlone. On your way, visit Clonmacnoise, an early Christian site founded by St. Ciarán in the mid-6th century on the eastern bank of the River Shannon. The site includes the ruins of a cathedral, seven churches (10th-13th century), two round towers, three high crosses and the largest collection of Early Christian grave slabs in Western Europe. The original high crosses and a selection of grave slabs are on display in the visitor center. The long and varied history of Clonmacnoise is recounted in an audiovisual presentation shown in the visitor center. There are also exhibitions that deal with the flora, fauna and landscape of the region. On top Athlone where you pause for lunch in Sean’s Pub (on your own). Afterwards, visit Athlone Castle. The Castle was first built to defend the crossing point on the River Shannon and evolved into a bold defensive structure over the centuries. Onward to Dublin for overnight. (B)

DAY 8 MALAHIDE & GLASNEVIN: Enjoy breakfast in your hotel, then head out to Malahide to visit Malahide Castle. Enjoy a tour of the magnificent medieval castle with a dramatic 800-year heritage. You might like to stroll the beautiful grounds. Afterwards, make your way to Glasnevin Cemetery. Celebrating history, heritage and culture, this attraction and tour provides an intriguing journey through Ireland’s past. Glasnevin Museum gives a valuable insight into this unique Victorian burial place and into the final resting place of the men and women who have helped shape Ireland’s past and present including its founder, Daniel O'Connell. Perhaps enjoy lunch (on your own) in the famous Gravediggers Pub located beside the cemetery. Later, return to Dublin. This evening, experience an enchanting evening of Irish folklore and storytelling while enjoying a candlelit traditional Irish dinner in a local Dublin Pub. (B/D)

DAY 9 DUBLIN AT LEISURE: Enjoy breakfast followed by a full day at leisure in Dublin. (B)

DAY 10 DUBLIN / USA: After breakfast, transfer to Dublin airport for your return flight to the US. (B)
