Monday, Sept 8- Fly from Boston to London on overnight flight
Tuesday, Sept 9 Arrive in London: Arrival in London, meet your local guide and depart on a half-day sightseeing tour of London. Visit Churchill War Rooms. See the original Cabinet War Rooms, the wartime bunker which sheltered Churchill and his staff during the Blitz. These historic rooms once buzzed with planning and plotting strategies and secrets. Look thru the lens of history into the Map Room, where the books and charts have remained exactly where they were left on the day the lights were switched off in 1945.Afterwards, check into your hotel and enjoy some free time to relax. This evening, enjoy dinner at a local restaurant. (D)
Wednesday, Sept 10 Westminster Abbey and Tower of London .After breakfast, meet with your local guide and depart for Westminster Abbey. .A UNESCO World Heritage Site, it has a legacy dating back more than 1,000 years. The Gothic church is best known for hosting events involving the British Royal Family. Then we visit the Tower of London, where the Beefeaters guard the Crown Jewels. Enjoy views to the Great Fire of London and Borough Market. (B)
Thursday, Sept 11 You are free to enjoy London on your own. An Oyster Card is included with your vacation for unlimited use of the tubes and buses. Suggested visits include Rosetta Stone at the British Museum or some shopping at Harrods. (B)
Friday, Sept 12 Excursion to Stratford-on-Avon and Oxford. A full day excursion with a local guide. Visit Anne Hathaway Cottage, the childhood home of Shakespeare’s wife. Afterwards, visit Shakespeare’s birthplace. Then onto Oxford for a panoramic tour. Dinner at a local restaurant tonight. (B,D)
Saturday, Sep 13 After breakfast, we journey to Windsor Castle, the largest inhabited castle in the world. Then we head to Stonehenge, the most famous prehistoric site. After our visit, we head to the city of Bath and dinner at a local restaurant near the hotel.
Friday, Sept 14 After breakfast, we have a tour of Bath and make a stop at the Roman Baths. We travel thru the Cotswolds, one of the most quintessentially English parts of the country. Discover honey-colored limestone that is characteristic of the region. Arrive in Liverpool and check into The Hard's Days Night Hotel located in the heart of the Beatles Quarter.(B)
Saturday, Sept 15 After breakfast, meet your local guide and depart for a Beatles themed walking tour of Liverpool. Visit the Beatles Story Museum where an expert guide will discuss the band and their lasting impact on the music world. Dinner at the Cavern or Grapes Pub
