Tuesday, Oct 7 Fly to Shannon from Boston
Wednesday OCTOBER 8 - SHANNON / CLIFFS OF MOHER / DROMOLAND / KILLARNEY: Welcome to Ireland! After collecting your bags, you will meet with your driver in the arrival hall at Shannon Airport. Shortly afterwards, you will depart and make your way out to see the Cliffs of Moher which have majestically faced the Atlantic for over 350 million years and their beauty is incomparable – rising 700 feet above the pounding Atlantic waves and stretching 5 miles along the coast of County Clare in the west of Ireland. From the cliffs on a clear day one can see the Aran Islands and Galway Bay. O’Brien’s Tower stands near the highest point and has served as a viewing point for visitors for hundreds of years. Afterwards, travel a short distance to Rathbun Sheep farm where you will stop to enjoy a sheepdog demonstration with tea and scones. Afterwards, depart and make your way to Dingle for dinner and overnight. (D)
Thursday, OCTOBER 9 - DINGE PENINSULA: Enjoy breakfast. Afterwards, enjoy a sightseeing tour of the beautiful Dingle Peninsula. This peninsula is a Gaeltacht, a unique area where the Irish language is preserved. You will see Slea Head; beehive huts; view of the Blasket Islands; harbors; beaches; all spectacular! Stop at Inch beach. A wild and wind-swept dune system stretches along this amazing sand spit as it reaches out into Dingle Bay towards Rossbeigh Beach and the northern shores of the Iveragh Peninsula creating a majestic panorama. Afterwards, stop in Kelly’s Bar for lunch (on own) before continuing on to Killarney for overnight. The town on the lakes is famous for its lively pubs and open, cheerful atmosphere, full of what the Irish call “craic!” – Gaelic for fun. This evening, enjoy dinner in your hotel. (B/D)
Friday, OCTOBER 10 - RING OF KERRY: Travel the road that winds around the beautiful Iveragh Peninsula, better known as The Ring of Kerry. It is undoubtedly one of the most magical places in all Ireland. Here mountains, valleys, lakes, and sea blend into a landscape that is often breathtaking beyond words. A number of stops will allow you to marvel at the spectacular scenery; walk around the colorful village of Sneem and stop at Moll’s Gap for amazing views of the Lakes of Killarney. Return to Killarney for overnight. (B)
Saturday, OCTOBER 11 - BLARNEY / KILKENNY: This morning after breakfast, depart and start your journey towards Kilkenny. Travel via Cork where you will visit Blarney Castle with its magical stone that gives the gift of eloquence for a kiss. You have plenty of free time to explore and shop in Blarney Woolen Mills too! head to Waterford. Visit the House of Waterford Crystal where a factory tour introduces you to all aspects of traditional crystal production. Afterwards, make your way to Kilkenny for overnight and dinner. (B/D)
