DAY 1 USA / LONDON, ENGLAND: Depart on your overnight flight to London, England.
DAY 2 ARRIVE LONDON: Welcome to London! After collecting your bags, you will meet with your transfer driver in the arrivals hall and shortly afterwards, your private transfer will depart and make its way towards your London hotel. PLEASE NOTE: Check-in at London hotels is normally 2:00pm. The hotel will try to accommodate earlier arrival, but this is not guaranteed. The remainder of your day is at leisure. This evening enjoy dinner in a local pub or restaurant within walking distance of the hotel. (D)
DAY 3 LONDON: Today, after breakfast, depart on a full-day sightseeing tour of London. Admire landmarks such as Buckingham Palace and Big Ben. Visit Westminster Abbey, a must-see and a significant structure in British history. This beautiful gothic church is a UNESCO World Heritage Site popular with many visitors to London. Complete with paintings, stained glass windows and other religious artefacts, Westminster Abbey owns the most important collection of monumental sculpture anywhere in Britain. Later, return to your hotel for overnight. (B)
DAY 4 LONDON: Enjoy breakfast before departing on your second full-day of sightseeing in London. Today you will visit the Tower of London, where the Beefeaters guard the dazzling Crown Jewels, and where you will gain excellent views of Tower Bridge from the Medieval Palace. Visit St. Paul’s Cathedral, rebuilt by Sir Christopher Wren after the Great Fire of London in 1666. Hear how the landmark survived the WWII Blitz, study the cathedral's magnificent dome, and view the tombs of some of England’s most renowned leaders like Sir Winston Churchill and Lord Nelson. This evening enjoy dinner in a local pub or restaurant within walking distance of the hotel. (B/D)
DAY 5 WINDSOR & KEW GARDENS: Enjoy breakfast. Depart on a full day at -day excursion from London. Proceed to Windsor Castle, the largest inhabited castle in the world, and the Queen’s favorite residence. Subject to opening restrictions, you may see the State Apartments, St. George’s Chapel, and Queen Mary’s Doll’s House. Afterwards, visit the charming old town to peruse some of the boutiques and cafes. Later, visit Kew Gardens. The world’s most famous garden, Kew boasts breathtaking landscapes, iconic glasshouses, historic buildings, and a vast range of rare and beautiful plants. Return to London for overnight. DAY 6 OXFORD / STRATFORD-UPON-AVON / WARWICK: After breakfast, depart on full day journey into the English countryside. You will head first to Oxford, home to England’s oldest university, where you may take a walk through the impressive buildings that are still home to the university’s main ceremonial and educational functions. Visit the quintessentially English city of Stratford-upon-Avon with your guide this morning. Birthplace of William Shakespeare and home to the picturesque Anne Hathaway’s Cottage, the town is scattered with tell-tale signs of its theatrical heritage. Later, pause to visit Warwick Castke, oone of England's historic medieval castles, Warwick Castle was originally built by William the Conqueror and has seen the likes of Henry of Anjou and the 16th Earl of Warwick, Richard Neville. Return to London for overnight. (B)
DAY 7 STONEHENGE & BATH: Enjoy breakfast. Afterwards, depart on a full-day excursion to Stonehenge and Bath. Your first stop will be to visit Stonehenge, arguably the most famous prehistoric site in Europe, it inspires wonder at the effort it must have taken to drag the enormous stones over the land and erect them in circles. Onwards to the beautiful Georgian city of Bath, often regarded as one of the loveliest cities in all of England. From its beginnings as a Roman camp in the first century AD, Bath developed through troubled centuries to emerge in the 1700?s as a fashionable “spa” resort. Some of England’s best preserved Georgian architecture is housed here, together with fascinating relics of earlier eras. You will tour the Roman Baths that were discovered in an excellent state of preservation near to Bath Abbey church and see the magnificent Palladian architecture for which the city is renowned (seen at its best in the Circus and the Royal Crescent). Later, return to London for overnight. This evening enjoy dinner in a local pub or restaurant within walking distance of the hotel. (B/D)
DAY 8 LEEDS & CANTERBURY: After breakfast, depart from London and make your way to Leeds Castle, the former residence of 6 of England’s medieval queens. The palace was transformed by Henry VIII, and became a retreat for the rich and powerful. Explore the chapel, galleries, courtyards, and the banqueting hall. Afterwards, experience the ancient city of Canterbury, the center of Christian worship for almost 1,700 years. Tour its greatest treasure, the Canterbury Cathedral, probably best known as the site of the brutal murder of Thomas Becket in 1170. After touring the cathedral, you will have some free time to explore Canterbury before returning to London for overnight. This evening enjoy dinner in a local pub or restaurant within walking distance of the hotel. (B/D)
DAY 9 LONDON AT LEISURE: Enjoy breakfast followed by a full-day at leisure in London. (B)
